A Simple Question

Like many stories, ours began unexpectedly.

Dave was meeting with college leaders, asking how his apologetics group could come alongside their campus ministries. Instead they asked, “Can you do something with teenagers before they get to college?”

That simple question struck a chord with Dave, but he wasn’t quite sure how God would use him. Fast forward nine months and he was introduced to Ginnie: a mom of four boys with a passion for helping teenagers learn about and love the Bible.

Ginnie had noticed a difference between how her sons and their friends engaged in a church setting versus a home setting. When she began inviting teens into her home to ask their questions about the Bible, they more freely expressed their concerns, their doubts, and their fears. This gave her a chance to provide honest and helpful answers - laying a strong foundation of apologetics and propelling them forward in their faith.

Launching 7x7 Conversations

Together, Dave and Ginnie felt God calling them to launch this idea on a bigger scale - and 7x7 Conversations was created! 7x7 Conversations is a discipleship initiative that takes 7 students over 7 weeks through 7 core trainings in God's Word. Our goal is for teens to gain a confident understanding of why they believe what they believe.

Not only does our organization raise up students, but it also raises up leaders. We hear people say all the time, “If I could only get my friend to listen to this pastor or come to this church or listen to this podcast, then they’d begin a relationship with Jesus.” We want people to know that you don’t have to be a pastor or Bible scholar to lead people to know Jesus! Our discipleship initiative empowers anyone with a heart for the mission to mentor, advise, and encourage teenagers through their faith journey.

So What’s Next?

We realize that as our world becomes more and more challenging, so will the questions our teenagers begin to ask. That’s why our hope is for 7x7 Conversations to become a nation-wide program, equipping students with confidence in their faith and a strong desire for sharing the good news of Jesus with others. We believe discipleship should continue to move from the four walls of a church on Sunday into daily conversations at home and with friends. While our goal will never be to replace the church, we hope to supplement and unite church communities everywhere.

Join us in praying that God would guide our efforts and begin reversing the trend of teenagers turning away from their faith through 7x7 Conversations!
